Key Features
The Durst Rho 162 TS Plus is a productive printing system for traffic sign applications.
It uses specially designed 3M UV Inkjet Traffic Inks and delivers the highest quality and reliability, meeting traffic colour specifications to produce certified highly reflective traffic signs.
We have a number of state-of-the-art RollsRollers which are the best on market.
These machines are used for applying the vinyl to the substrate to ensure correct pressure is applied giving a smooth and long-lasting finish.
The installation of this machine enabled us to speed up production significantly, take on more and bigger projects. We had previously made plates by hand which was not only slower but higher risk.
Using the CNC reduces that risk and also eliminates waste. Paired with the TrafficJet, it has helped our output increased 500%. It also gives us more options in commercial market, shop front signage for example, and it can make a specific clip (in addition to the clips machine).
This is now used mainly for graphics as our new CNC machine has taken over the majority of our cutting activity.
In addition to our key machinery, we also have a Mimaki UJV100-160 digital printer, several quality rivet machines on site, that effectively apply channels to the substrate, and a number of clip making machines. Finally, our laminators, this is an important part of the process as they provide UV protection and enable the warranties.
We were early adopters of microprismatic retroreflective technology, and the majority of our Class RA2 signs are made with 3M High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) sheeting, which means you get the benefit of a 12-year warranty with our permanent road signs.
HIP carries the CE quality marking which guarantees that it meets all the performance criteria required by BS EN 12899-1:2007 and BS 8408:2005.
Compared to other class RA2 materials, such as glass beaded, HIP is clearly the superior product. The reflectivity, colour contrast, legibility, brightness and durability of HIP are all vastly improved.
Designed for durable road traffic signs, including gantries, motorways and trunk road signs, DG3 is certified in European Technical Approval (07/0272) and is the only premium sheeting that carries the CE quality marking.
DG3 is available in five colours, as well as fluorescent and translucent formats for special applications. In all formats, DG3 achieves its remarkable performance from the use of full corner cube optics which reflect more light back to the driver than any other reflective system.
Avery Dennison took reflective sheeting to the next level in performance and safety with OmniCube™ full-cube sheeting, providing higher reflectivity and a more cost-effective production solution. We use a wide range of this material, the following being the main ones:
T-11500 Series OmniCube Full-Cube Microprismatic Sheeting
OmniCube full-cube prisms are 100% efficient – returning approximately 60% of the available light back to the driver compared to only 40% with other prismatic reflective sheetings. OmniCube’s Intelligent Cube Technology incorporates the needs of all vehicle types; trucks, SUVs, automobiles, and motorcycles into one reflective sheeting. Can be printed with the TrafficJet Print System.
T-6500 High Intensity Microprismatic Retroreflective Sheeting
Avery Dennison T-6000 Series High Intensity Microprismatic (HIP) Retroreflective Film for permanent and temporary traffic signage, is a high-quality, durable, microprismatic retroreflective material with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Its unique microprismatic construction provides a high level of retroreflectivity for demanding traffic control situations. Can be printed with the TrafficJet Print System.
