Investment

To ensure we continue to produce top quality signs, sustainably and efficiently, we pride ourselves on our investment in the latest equipment and materials, often bringing new technology to the UK.

One example is our current Avery Dennison printer, procured via Lakeside Group, this was the first of its kind in the UK and is not only a fast and productive traffic sign print system, it also reduces waste from hazardous screen printing.

Early adopters

We were early adopters of microprismatic retroreflective technology, and the majority of our Class RA2 signs are made with 3M High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) sheeting, which also means you get the benefit of a 12-year warranty with our permanent road signs.

HIP carries the CE quality marking which guarantees that it meets all the performance criteria required by BS EN 12899-1:2007 and BS 8408:2005.

Superior products

Compared to other class RA2 materials, such as glass beaded, HIP is clearly the superior product. The reflectivity, colour contrast, legibility, brightness and durability of HIP are all vastly improved.

The production techniques involved for HIP are also much kinder to the environment than other reflective sheet manufacturing methods.

With HIP the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions are reduced by 97%, energy consumption by 77% and solid waste by 46% when compared to glass beaded sheeting manufacture.

Adaptability

One of our seemingly simple solutions is ‘peelable faces’, this is where you can easily change part of a sign from one message to another with an overlay that can be peeled off, 30mph to 20mph as an example, as was done in Wales with the new 20mph rule roll out.

We also offer bespoke design and manufacture with specialist finishes such as anti-dew and anti-graffiti.
